Assignments

Assignments turn coaching into a concrete ask: this scenario, at this difficulty, by this date. They live on the owner-only Assignments page.

What happens when you assign practice

  1. Pick a built-in or custom scenario.
  2. Pick Easy, Realistic, or Hard.
  3. Optionally add a due date and a note the reps will see.
  4. Select individual members, a whole pod, or everyone.
  5. Review the confirmation and choose Assign practice.

Each selected active member gets a separate assignment row. Newly assigned reps get an email, an in-app notification, and an Assigned to you card on their dashboard. The link opens practice with the scenario and difficulty already selected.

If a rep already has the same scenario and difficulty open, the duplicate is skipped. The result tells you how many were assigned, how many already had it, and whether anyone stopped being active while the page was open.

Start with one of the presets if you are not sure what to assign. You can also use Try it on yourself first to experience the exact rep flow before rolling it out.

How completion works

A practice call completes the oldest matching open assignment automatically. Both the scenario and the difficulty have to match.

If you assign “Price objection” on Hard and the rep runs it on Realistic, that call does not settle the assignment. The practice page says whether the current selection will count; reps can still change it and run a different call.

Owners can also choose Mark complete from a member row. Manual completions have no coaching report link and are labelled “marked complete by owner.” Marking the oldest row complete means a later matching call will settle the next-oldest open row, if there is one.

Due dates and overdue work

Due dates use UTC calendar days everywhere. An assignment due today is not overdue until the UTC day ends. Overdue assignments stay available and can still be completed normally.

The owner dashboard shows open, overdue, and completion figures. When work is overdue, the next-best-action card links back to Assignments.

Edit, cancel, and review history

Open assignment campaigns group the reps who received the same scenario, difficulty, note, and creation time. From the campaign or member rows you can:

  • edit the due date or note;
  • mark one rep complete manually;
  • cancel one rep's assignment;
  • cancel the campaign for everyone still open.

Scenario and difficulty cannot be edited because they define what completion means. Cancel the assignment and create a new one instead.

Cancelled work moves into Cancelled (last 20) so a change does not erase the recent management trail. Completed rows keep their original practice report link when completion was automatic.

What reps see

The rep dashboard shows the resolved scenario name (including team-authored scenarios), assigned difficulty, due status, and your note. Assignment links carry a unique assignment id so the practice page can show who assigned it and track that the link was used. Changing scenario or difficulty is allowed, but the page warns that the new call will not count toward the assignment.

Practice-reminder preferences cover assignment emails as well as weekly practice nudges. Muting those emails does not remove dashboard assignments or in-app notifications.
